Ingredients

For the Wings
  • 2 lb Chicken wings, separated into flats and drumettes
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
For the Cowboy Butter Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter cut into cubes
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Red pepper flakes or to taste
  • 2 Tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp Fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon juice

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Large bowl
  • Small saucepan

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder until they are evenly coated.
  3. Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are cooked through and crispy.
  4. While the wings bake, prepare the cowboy butter sauce. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat.
  5. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
  6. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, parsley, chives, and lemon juice.
  7. Once the wings are finished cooking, transfer them to a clean, large bowl.
  8. Pour the warm cowboy butter sauce over the hot wings. Toss everything together until the wings are completely coated in the sauce.
  9. Serve the cowboy butter chicken wings immediately.

Notes

If you prefer crispier wings, you can broil them for the last 2 to 3 minutes after baking, watching them closely to prevent burning.
