Ingredients

For the Stacks

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Pizza cutter or knife

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Cut the sheet into 6 equal rectangles.
  3. Place the 6 pastry rectangles onto the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops lightly with the beaten egg wash.
  4. Place one slice of ham on top of each pastry rectangle. Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the ham.
  5. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed, golden brown, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 2 to 3 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can sprinkle a small amount of paprika over the cheese before baking. These stacks are best eaten warm.
