Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Cut the sheet into 6 equal rectangles.
- Place the 6 pastry rectangles onto the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops lightly with the beaten egg wash.
- Place one slice of ham on top of each pastry rectangle. Sprinkle the cheese evenly over the ham.
- Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed, golden brown, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 2 to 3 minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can sprinkle a small amount of paprika over the cheese before baking. These stacks are best eaten warm.
