Method
- Make the peach syrup. Combine 1 cup of water, 1 cup of sugar, and the peach slices in a small saucepan.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. Bring it to a gentle simmer and cook for about 5 minutes until the peaches soften slightly.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Pour the peach mixture into a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Strain the peach puree through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl to remove solids. Press down on the solids to extract all liquid. You should have about 1 cup of syrup. Let the syrup cool completely.
- In a large pitcher, combine the cooled peach syrup, 1 cup of fresh lemon juice, and 4 cups of cold water. Stir well to combine.
- Taste the lemonade. Add more water if the flavor is too strong, or a little more sugar dissolved in warm water if you prefer it sweeter.
- Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve the peach lemonade over ice.

Notes
If you want a stronger peach flavor, use slightly more than 1 cup of the cooled syrup. Garnish glasses with thin slices of fresh peach or lemon wedges before serving.
